Hi!
It’s Katrina here, with some very important news. The end of the quarter is less than 10 days away, which means that it is officially crunch time for our campaign. I am the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in North Dakota, and I want to give you five quick reasons why you should donate to my campaign.
North Dakota is an extraordinarily cheap place to run an election. $20 here is the equivalent to $250 donation in a Chicago race.
Other top Senate seats in states like Arizona, Montana, Nevada, and Florida are each estimated to cost at least $75 million. With our cheap media markets, with $5-7 million, I can win.
My opponent, Kevin Cramer, is beatable. He is still in his first term, and has lost three previous statewide elections. In April, I outraised him by nearly 2:1!
Polling backs this up - Celinda Lake, a top pollster found that only 33% of North Dakotans want to re-elect Kevin Cramer and 54% want to replace him. If we can raise the money to get our message out, this race is tied.
This is a long time Democratic held seat. From 1960-2018 a Democrat held this seat. From 1986-2010, Democrats held all three of North Dakota’s Congressional seats.
I hope after reading this you would make a contribution to my campaign.
I don’t come from money. I grew up in a family that struggled to get by in rural America. We counted on food stamps to put dinner on the table and Headstart for Preschool. I know what it’s like to struggle.
I will never forget where I came from or who I am fighting for in the Senate.
The Senate map is very hard for Democrats to keep the majority this cycle. We need to expand the map.
We can win this, but I need your help. Will you chip in $20 before midnight?
Also, our campaign recently commissioned our first internal poll and results were eye-opening. Some toplines are:
The initial head-to-head has me at 29% and Cramer at 54%. This is to be expected as less than one-third of voters have even heard of me. But we closed the gap 10 points since the Emerson poll in October without a penny spent in paid media, showing significant potential.
Only 33% of voters want to reelect Senator Cramer, 54% want to replace or will consider someone else.
Only 42% view Cramer favorably, and 45% viewing him unfavorably. 24% of Republicans don’t approve of the job he is doing.
When hearing positive messages for both candidates, I take the lead, 45% to 43%.
When negative messages are incorporated, the final ballot has the race tied at 40% each.
Senator Kevin Cramer is a lifetime, lackluster politician, who has previously lost three statewide races in North Dakota, with mediocre polling numbers. His favorability is below water, his job approval flat, and his reelect is a dismal 33%. He is “more of the same” from Washington. He is part of the problem and not part of the solution.
I’m the polar opposite of Kevin Cramer and represents that change that voters want: I’m not a politician; I understand first-hand the challenges people face, I am a problem solver, and I’m an outsider unafraid to tackle the status quo in Washington. In December, we released our launch ad video with outstanding results, as the video has over 6 million views. You can watch the ad here.
We can win this race but I need your help. You can donate here.
I look forward to talking to you from the trail.
Always in service,
Katrina
Thank you so much for your support.
